I'm gleaming after reading your post. Best of luck on your trip! I bet you can't stop after the first one:cool: If you have pointing dogs I highly recommend the combo (quail and phez) hunt:cheers:

I will also be back at least once this year and 2-4 times yearly thereafter!

Fieldking,
I see your from Indiana, my bro lives in Shelbyville, and my one hunting buddy lives in Salem and the other lives in North Venon. The other two are stationed at Camp Atterbury. Well one is a friend the other one I have yet to meet. He is the Colonel there and all three of the guys have worked for him. They say he is a nice guy but an officer. God I am glad I am retired so I don't have to salute him. I hope you have a great time deer hunting and in South Dakota. Glad to hear you have some property to hunt. Have a safe and enjoyable hunt.
Would like to hear about it when you get back.

I am deer hunting here at home in Indiana, I am heading to Kansas 3rd day of season for Phez, I would love to Pheasant hunt SD, never been there, I am slightly south of Indy and 30 minutes from Atterbury, I have deer hunted there many times, are those the friendS meeting you in SD?

yes they are. Looks like my one buddy and his dad, one guy and his son, another one of the guys and the Colonel. 7 total counting me. All good guys, well don't know about the Colonel. Dang officers :)

looks like the whole platoon is on the way, small world I tell u, a relative of mine has the grub contract at Atterbury to feed all the troops there for training, wish your hunting friends were a smaller platoon and could fit me for the ride to SD,maybe next time!
