Hunting Vest

I've been looking for a new hunting vest or strap vest. I want one with water bottle holders. I don't care for the bladders. I think I might have found the one I want. It's from WingWorks. Here's their web site: http://www.wingworks.biz/

I only wish it had a little more orange on it. Does anyone have one of these? Do you like it?

Actually I first saw this vest in the latest edition of the Pheasant Forever Journal. They also have them with the PF logo: http://pfstore.org/index.php?main_p...d=1155&zenid=cbb39b1ce546b5188f78e9c0199ed120

George, I use a strange one but boy does it work. I got it at BassPro. It is Called The Dog Handlers Strap Vest. 59.95 is the price. It has all the pockets for water bottles, Training Dummies and more. I am like you, I took out the bladder water deal and it lays in a closet never used. It is all Blaze Orange, that really fades when you wash it, so be careful. The Straps didn't want to stay on my shoulders. I installed a strap that goes across my chest. It is held in place by some big snaps. I love it now, check them out if you wish......Bob

I happen to love the bladder. I've long been using a hydro-pack under conventional and strap vests to water my dogs. I can put the mouth piece right in my dogs' mouths and they'll lap it up with little waste, no bowl required. Depending on where I'm trekking to, I may also bring along bottled water, but usually a decent sized bladder is sufficient until I swing by the truck to fill up, so I don't have loose bottled of water slogging around in my vest. An added bonus is that the bladder keeps my back cool. If you're dogs can learn to drink from it, it is really quite handy. Obviously each guy has to determine what he prefers, but if you haven't tried it, I'd suggest giving it a whirl before dismissing it out of hand.

I actually picked up a Cabela's brand pack/vest with a built in bladder last winter but haven't installed the bladder yet. It seems quite a bit more functional than my previous simple PF/Browning strap vest but I otherwise don't have any review for it yet.

Holy cow! Now that's what I call service. Ordered the vest yesterday morning and received it a little while ago. I looks and fits great. Looks like a real quality piece. I guess the true test will be in the field this fall. The only potential problem I see if that the shell pockets, while they are deep, are also a little narrow. Could be somehat of a problem getting into the pockets with gloves on or if you have large hands. Fortunately I have relatively small hands.

Congratulations George That new vest sounds like a winner. I sure hope it works well for you.....Bob
