Google the ones you're interested in. At least 2 of them have nice maps. I can't remember if I printed an attachment or had 'em send one to me. I didn't end up going, but plan to try it someday.

I have been there, Rosebud, Lower Brule both have excellent resources. The societies are poor. I mean that with charity. The people were broken by the government. The Navaho are profitable, they made peace with the US government early on. The Souix fought it out till the end. There is some violence, mainly against themselves. If I was going for the first time, I would hire a guide to show you the ropes, and intervene for you, till you see what's like. Remember who are in a foreign country. US laws will not "save" you. The Tribal police and the tribal court are your remedy. A guide needs the work, it's a small gesture in a strange land, and he knows the game, and will get you on to property you may not get on to yourself. I have enjoyed hunting there before the they actually had a program in the early 1970's. Now it's an economic engine bringing in tourist trade. I enjoyed my self immensely.

Think I will head out this summer and check out a few of the reservations. My experience last year was getting a map showing the tribal lands-----impossible for Standing Rock.
I am not afraid to hunt on the reservations, you have to be smart about it. And talking to some of the locals out there, they tell me more problems with white men than native americans.
East river is in shambles with the ag boom. I understand making a good living, but looking at the sheer scale of the destruction, fueled by farm policy, subsidies, crop insurance, farm bureau, farmers union, state county and townships, well its gonna look like Iowa and MN soon. We haven't learned a thing from the past.

Lets hope the Tribes are better stewards than we are! It was not always true. In the 1980's they leased all the ground to non-tribal memebers, had basically grazed to the sod, a disaster, not enough grass to hide a prairie dog. That is mostly reversed. At the same time the Forest Service, and UF&G, did the same thing, I was there on the forest service when they pulled the plug on grazing permits because of drought. We had grass instead of sand dunes, and birds, amazing.

the standing rock map is a joke, i compared it to the state WIA map and ALOT of the ground showed as both public WIA AND tribal....beware of where you are at, the tribe will not be happy if you do not have their expensive license to hunt thier ground
Or the state on public and WIA!!! On the reservation, no state lisence is required.

100 bucks for a pheasant permit (10 consecutive days) and 65 to hunt grouse plus a 10 dollar hunting permit....not cheap
