Hunting Regs: Rifle hunting for Deer

Definitely set for pheasant hunting over thanksgiving, but I am thinking about deer hunting on my Grandmothers property the following weekend 6 Dec.

Looking at the licencing fees online I do not see deer tags. Does the purchasing of the licence provide small game and one "antlered" deer?

PA's fish and game site is a maze/overload of information...

Thanks for the help.

If you are buying a resident license, then yes you get a tag for one antlered deer. Don't know about out of state.

As always thank you! I am nonresident. A 7 day small game is only $31 vs hunting Non-res hunting of $100. Now All I have to do is decide if I am going go for deer.

May just pay the $100 anyway and try management areas for pheasant in the southern part of PA near Gettysburg/Hanover (I will check, but I assume there are some) and back up near Milford during the Jan-Feb time frame for holdovers.

Between last years pheasant action, chasing Mule deer in Idaho this Oct, all the posts, and Bauerline's photos; I am trying to eliminate all excuses and get out hunting as much as I can.

Your $101.70 dollar non-resident hunting license will enable you to hunt both small and big game. The deer tag is included and attached to the license. Unlike some states, the 2014 license is good until June 30th 2015, making it a great buy!
