Hunting Preserve

Looking for a good preserve to go with a buddy who has an 11mo. pup he wants to get some work in. I have a place I go to regularly, but not a great place to bring an inexperienced pup. Any good recommendations? In Minnesota, please.

Pheasantview Hunt Farm near Goodhue, MN has treated me and my dogs fairly well. Paul has a lot of variety in his cover and the prices are fairly reasonable.

You can't beat Long lake Lodge up here by me Rock, and maybe we can get togeather and train and hunt some too. 1st class lodge with hot tub from God himself, beautiful setting and place. Varity of cover is well just about anything including puppy fields. Awsome.:thumbsup: 2 hrs west.

What kind of pup and how far are you willing to travel? Some places work great for flushers in my experience but aren't set up as well for pointers. Several decent ones a few hours north of the twin cities run by pointing dog folks who know the difference.

Why is that?

I've used Pheasant Ridge in Ogilvie. There's a bunch within an hours drive of the Twin Cities. Pick one and give it try.
