I normally hunt the last week of the season over new years but am debating staying home this year. I hunt in the Eureka area, anyone been out in that area since the storm? Last year they had snow and the hunting was great, just wondering how much more snow they have this year. Thanks

Michael

the hotel we stay at in that area actually called yesterday and told us it would be smart to cancel.
most section lines, ditchs, etc. are blown full of snow.
Crp is layed down pretty bad.
If you have some private with shelter belts and standing corn you may have a shot.
We are pretty much die hards but after that call and a call to the landowner we decided to cancel.
Hated to but there will be another day.
best of luck if you go

Many areas of the Dakotas were hit very hard with 12 - 24 inches of snow and blowing wind that sealed over many ditches, roads, etc...

Access to many remote areas will be limited at best.

Bring snow shoes and a long tow rope if you go. Carry a winter survivial kit and maybe some sleeping bags kept in the truck too.

The tow rope is just in-case you get stuck. Don't assume that the few pick-ups driving by will have one.
