Heading out tomorrow to eastern Colorado somewhere. Did anyone on this forum hunt the opener?
 
It was a grind! Warm weather, dry conditions and an old dog is a tough combination. We got some birds but it was not for the faint of heart. That’s Colorado pheasant hunting!
 
I don't do Opening Weekend, but went right after that. Strong winds made it seem pretty cold. DRY conditions are not ideal for your dog's scenting either. TBS, we saw surprising large number of birds. Extremely poor shooting resulted in only 2 roosters bagged for each hunter I was with over 2 1/2 days . Walked at least 5-7 miles per day. Bumping and seeing the birds made it all worth while.
