How to improve your shooting

Okay, this is my final post on my original post.

A lot of information came out as I knew it would. But here is my final word. If you are shooting at a level that satisfies you then none of this applies. My posting was titled "How to Improve your Shooting."

IF you are having trouble. Let me repeat that --- IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE.

Do what I suggested in my original post. I guarantee you will shoot better in the field.

Or feel free to pick and choose from everything posted here. And I still guarantee you will shoot better.

If you don't, I will gladly eat the first plate of barbequed crow sent my way. :D

Everyone have a great season!!

Full Disclosure

Okay, here it is. Once you have all this stuff down pat, don't think too much about it. Just shoot the dam gun.

I was out on Saturday. Murphy went on point, before I could get there two blues busted out. One came my way, an easy right to left crosser, maybe 25 yards out. I was actually thinking about this thread, and how easy that shot was.....missed with both barrels. Unfriggin-real. I thought way too much about that shot, the lead, the bird, the speed, the distance, etc, etc. It was ridiculous.

My mind was so wrapped up in all that crap I had no idea what I was doing. And I've made shots like that hundreds of times on wild birds.

So, back to the range I go. I need to get all this thinking out of my head and just shoot.

So, again, I say, once you have it all down, don't think...shoot.

i know your problem, you were looking down the barrel with the wrong eye, didn't point your finger, your stance was wrong, gripped the gun too tight, flinched just to name a few. one thing for sure, ya started thinking, and ya started missing, i do believe that you can shoot methodically but in bird shooting it is bound to fail. good luck getting back to the range and in the groove.

cheers
