Helped a buddy get his first.

Took a buddy of mine out on Wednesday for his third ever bird hunt. I took him once last year and he shot a rooster, but we were unable to recover it. He had similar experience with one quail earlier this year.

We ended up hunting some farmsteads, lots of pigweed! He managed to bag his first rooster and his first quail. I think he's pretty hooked.

My other buddy hunting with me had been talking about a new philosophy on leading pheasant earlier in the day. He proved his point with this one. He ended up shooting half the beak off. I have honestly never seen that happen before.

All in all we had a good day.

No pheasant hens were harmed in the making of this post.

Good for you. I took a friend hunting Kansas this year. He hasn't hunted pheasants for 20 years, it was a great time. I'm sure you had a lot of fun as well.

Nice job! I always tell people its better to miss in front of a pheasant than it is to hit one in the back end. Shoot em in the face!:10sign:

Great hunt you had there. Your buddy's lucky to have a buddy who'll take him hunting.
