Hello everyone! My name is Dan and I from east central Alabama. I have been pheasant hunting in SD for quite a few years now and love it. I discovered this site a few months back and finally decided to introduce myself. I grew up hunting deer, dove and quail here in Alabama. A friend of mine invited me to go on a hunting trip to SD several years ago, and, well, you know the rest of the story. I am not one to post a lot but I will be around learning from all the experts here. Again, hello and thanks for allowing to be a part of this excellent site.
 
Welcome, sir. We would love to hear some hunting stories from AL. Can't think of a single one being posted. Can an AL resident legally shoot a deer a day in AL? Just curious.

Thanks for the welcome. Believe it or not we can actually take two deer per day during our 2 1/2 month deer season. We can take two unantlered deer every day or one unantlered and one antlered deer per day with a limit of 3 antlered deer per season. Our deer population has exploded over the last 20 years and even with the generous bag limits the herd is still growing. The growth is due to several factors. Our deer have no natural predators of any numbers at this time. We do have coyotes whose numbers are growing, but they are not a real threat to grown deer. We have a small population of what I believe are Florida Panthers. I know they are here because I have seen them personally. Another factor is that most hunters are not willing to take the number of deer we can legally take. I am one of those. If I shot every legal deer that I saw while hunting, I could feed several families for quite some time. There's just no sport in it. Alabama is also becoming more and more urbanized and the deer have adapted to urban habitats and in most cases you cannot hunt these areas. Sorry for the long post. I was just curious are two sec teams playing fo a national championship down somwewhere in your area? And if you say ROLL TIDE for bleu a free kansas hunting trip for you my friend!!!!!
 
Well I would hate to turn down a free hunting trip so here goes: Ro... Ro... Ro... Ah heck I can't say it. War Eagle!!:D What can you expect from a guy who lives within a stones throw of the reigning National Champs? At least for a few more weeks!!!
 
I LIKE THEM TO LOL being from down there its one or the other!! i never seen anything like it i have auburn apparel and bama i would have to say i like bama better though .
 
after years of frustration and being teased by wanna be national champions and then living and working in muscle shoals i quickly learned how awesome your state is for football your part of the country and state is truely miles ahead of everyone else (roll tide) bama has to be my fav but i like all sec teams
