Hello from southwest Colorado

Hey fellow bird hunters. I just found this forum while I was out on my annual pilgrimage to Dighton, KS for a little pheasant hunting. Thanks for the informative site. I am from Cortez, CO so I don't get to make it put to my favorite bird hunting area too often. With luck it's twice a year. Dighton proved to be pretty good hunting this year, even with the drought and hail that I heard they experienced over the summer months. South of town was rotten but the CRP WIHA north of town was still tall with a fair number of birds. Speaking of which, I did my part to save the bird populations for next year by only getting a few birds for the freezer :eek: Thanks again for the great web site. I look forward to seeing everybody's posts throughout the rest of the season. Best of luck to all, MACC-4
 
Welcome, pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee. For me, this is like the hot stove league in baseball -- something to enjoy while you are between days in the field.

Welcome from WA State (where Pheasants are few & far between, but a fine pup is in the making, and this old guy will never lose the passion.). Enjoy the site . . . as we used to say back home in my beloved Montana . . . . "It's a keeper!"
 
Welcome to the site, good to hear KS bird numbers are still fairing well. What nasty winds today out east, killed my plans for a trip unfortunately :(
 
Welcome to the forum.

I have SW Colorado(Cortez, Durango, Mesa Verde) on my list of places to see one day, just not enough time, money and bark in the old dog. My son and I have elk hunted north of you a ways for a number of years. If I can get some repairs done to this old body, I hope to make that trip again.

Glad you were finding some Kansas birds.
