Just found the forum, i just started bird hunting after a 15 year dry spell, and now i have kids to take as well, Phesants are making a big comeback here as well as some smaller birds.I will be picking up a dog as soon as i learn what i need here. Looking forward to participating as much as i can.

Welcome to UPH, I live next door in Washington, nice to see you here.......Bob

thanks guys, i am reall hooked, and so are the kids 4 and 9 years old, i can get my boy a permit to hunt on the local reservation this year and theres lots of birds, its going to be a great time with his new 870 youth i got him for Christmas, and theres pretty good hunting 3 miles from my house so we went about every day last year. Now its time to get a dog. My wife loves phesant and the huns we get here so i can go any time i want:D

howdy from oklahoma, the most fun is watching a good working dog and seeing your kids make a good shot i get more enjoyment from seeing my 3 boys harvest birds, deer and turkeys ,alot of help here joined in december and these guys haved helped me alot, enjoy and send us some pics of idaho!!

I will get some pics up from last year, it was rough going with the Nova i was hunting with, way to big and slow in my hands but i did get a few birds with it and plenty of ducks, this year will be better with lighter faster guns and lots of practice, the Nova is gone and the AL 391 is like getting a new lease on life. I think i found a dog today, an older GSP that was a trials dog and a good hunter but isnt high speed enough for the current owner so 5 year old Spot will be in front of my fireplace next week. I am seeing phesants every day on the job and some huns as well, its hard exsplaning to the kids we cant go get them. For some reason big game is just a distant memory and i might just use the resources next year for some road trips to the Dakotas.
