I am new to this forum. I found it by Googling pheasant hunting in Montana. I am 52 years old and love bird hunting and fly fishing. Unfortunately, where I live in Western Oregon the bird hunting is limited, the competition can be fierce, and finding places to hunt can be challenging. I am considering early retirement and moving to Montana so I can be closer to the activities that I love. I am considering the Billings area. I have never hunted in Montana. I was going to try to do a scouting/hunting trip this past October, but I got a new job so I was unable to do so. I am intrigued by all of the Block Management land that is available. I would like to explore north central, northeast and southeast Montana. Is it possible to find places to camp if I had a truck/camper or truck trailer combo?
I have a lab now, but am planning on getting a pudelpointer in the near future.
