Week ending 10/30 - NORTH DAKOTA CROP PROGRESS AND CONDITION
Just wanted to put this info out there, they're still tough to find in some areas but part of it's due to crops still in the field in many areas that last year at this time weren't. Below is the ND USDA report. Didn't feel like hyperlinking...sorry. They have been in the corn in many areas hunted so far this season.
NORTH DAKOTA CROP PROGRESS AND CONDITION
Fargo, ND ? For the week ending October 30, 2016, rainfall over much of the State slowed harvest progress, according to the USDA?s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The eastern half of North Dakota was impacted the most, with the southeast receiving one to three inches of rain. Temperatures averaged three to nine degrees above normal. There were 4.8 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 2 percent very short, 11 short, 74 adequate, and 13 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 3 percent very short, 12 short, 73 adequate, and 12 surplus.
Field Crops Report: Corn condition rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 14 fair, 57 good, and 25 excellent. Corn harvested was 52 percent, well behind 78 last year, and behind 67 for the five-year average.
Soybeans harvested was 97 percent, near 99 last year and 95 average.
Sunflowers condition rated 1 percent very poor, 4 poor, 24 fair, 65 good, and 6 excellent. Sunflowers harvested was 53 percent, behind 65 last year, and near 54 average.
Dry edible beans harvested was 95 percent.
Potatoes harvested was 94 percent.
Sugarbeets harvested was 99 percent, near 100 last year and 98 average.
Winter wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 21 fair, 70 good and 5 excellent. Winter wheat planted was 95 percent, behind 100 last year. Emerged was 90 percent, near 92 last year.
Livestock, Pasture and Range Report: Pasture and range conditions rated 5 percent very poor, 13 poor, 30 fair, 48 good, and 4 excellent.
Stock water supplies rated 5 percent very short, 18 short, 74 adequate, and 3 surplus.
