Jan 31 comes faster every year. The older I get the faster the seasons go by it seems. Can't believe it already the 5th of feb! One more week to chase the dark geese and then on to hunting white ones for a while.

After that comes the long wait until fall.

Oh well I guess. Plenty of motorcycle adventures and dogs to be trained and touched up.

Yeah I hear you, this sucks. I guess I will go shoot some flying carp, then start reloading for all my weapons. Start filling out big game applications. Then I guess start to fish for spring walleyes. Probably raise some puppies and get ready for fall. I hate summer!!!!

Down in La., our 6 week woodcock season ends on Jan. 31. Quail goes to the end of Feb. but we really don't have too many. We might find 2 coveys all season. I don't like to shoot them in hopes their population will increase. But its a good time to find good woodcock haunts for next season.
From March til Nov. we saltwater fish.

I hear you Whitewater, I will be chasing Reds on the fly here later in the spring. It is a good hold over till November.

I'm piddling with 3 pups and a couple of yearlings, should keep me busy. I also have the first of 2 or 3 females bred so puppy raising will also help fill the void. I'm hoping to pick up the fly rod sometime. Would like to wrestle some big redear and gills.

Got a deposit on a Llewellin pup. Hope to have it in 1 month. Have been building a pigeon loft for future training aids.
