Dean Rasmussen of Clark, SD started the P.D.R. Youth Deer Hunt last year to honor his grandson, Peyton Rasmussen, who died of spinal meningites in 1999. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for young children with disabilities to experience a weekend of deer hunting. Last year they had three youngsters that participated and they are looking for more this year. Dean contacted me last night to assist in getting the word out and hopefully finding some additional participants.

For more information here is the link to their web site: http://pdryouthhunt.com/

Or you can contact me via this site and I will have Dean contact you. If you know of a handicap youth that might be interested in this hunt please get them this information. I believe the hunt takes place in September and the child needs to be at least 12 years of age. This hunt is for youth with physical disablilities that would otherwise limit or prevent them from hunting deer.
