Hail Very Bad News in NW

My regular hunting buddy in Sheridan Co. says the hail damage is awful. Just when things were . . .

Not much tougher to deal with in agriculture.

With drought you have time to come to terms with the loss, and always hope things will change. With hail something good can go to $hit in minutes. It can be a shock.

One of my first years farming we had hail two days before bean harvest. Fifty bushels to the acre went to five in less than half an hour, the beans were just laying there on the ground in drifts.

Where I live SE of Hoxie it was around 7 miles wide, sw to ne. There were streaks that were worse than others within the path. Just NE of me there is a mile wide stretch of the South Solomon that looks like winter, no leaves left on the trees, lots of cottonwoods blown over. Some pastures are bare except for the soap weeds and they are all beat up. Seeing lots of dead birds, rabbits, and some dead or injured deer.

Thats amazing only seen it close to that bad once in SD. Hope you and all close are well. No where to hide when it's like that!
