Looking for breeders of gsp foothunting dogs that would retrieve. in the 45-55lb range. also want them to be good in the house and great in the field. been told to go with NAVHDA breeders anyone have experiane with these type of breeders?
No personal experience with his dogs, but Chad has a good reputation. He is also an Orvis endorsed breeder/guide which doesn't happen unless your very good at your trade. While Chad is good he's not the only good GSP breeder, the midwest has many good ones.
There is a female GSP in the puppy section for sale she is 15 weeks old. I bought her litter mate about 4weeks ago. Chris the breeder has to find a new home for the pup as the guy who picked her didn't get back to him. Great lines and a joy in the house.
My girl which is her litter mate is doing great in the house with my other dog and my 18 month old boy. Then in the field she is a ball of fire. I had her on chuckers before the snow came and she was great, chased for a bit then naturaly pointed. She is also coming along in her training with her Sit, here, stay, heel commands, retrieves naturaly and whoa training is coming easily for her as well.
She is worth a look and for that price you can't beat it

When you say foot hunting, do you mean that you want the dog to work within a certain range? Most GSPs from horseback field trial lines hunt just fine off of foot, but will range farther out depending on the cover. You could also look at GSPs that run NSTRA trials, which are foot trials that require the dogs to retrieve. Also, what area are you in?
