This is my first GSP pup in 10yrs. and id like alittle more education on the breed. Are they sensitive to new things like noise, area, activity? Are they known to be whinners when their pups?Remi is 8weeks old and she does alot of whinning and always wants to be held. Thanks for all the help

Thats all normal. Just bond and play .

thats not only a gsp thing thats an all breed thing and while sometimes anoying it will also help make your bond unbreakanble if you simpathize with her a little

My GSP "pup", is now eight years old, still whines when she swims after things. I think it's because she can't get there fast enough. :D

Like Gove said, embrace it, and create that bond. Before you know it, that pup will depend on you for instructions, and learn all the better.

As for activity, run the dog as much as you can... but remember to keep the pup tempered. Goes a long way when those little firecrackers grow to be adults.

If you pick up the dog when it's whining, you are just rewarding that behavior. There are other ways to bond. It's like those guys who let dogs out of the crates and such when their dogs are barking. Congrats. You just rewarded the dog's barking.

my 2 year old GSP still wines and wimpers sometimes hes realy vocal when it comes to hunting his head is down and looking for birds.
