Grouse drumming

I was wondering if grouse drum in the fall? I thought I had heard a couple drumming last fall while I was out deer hunting.

Was also wondering how the northern guys felt about the population? I had heard the drumming counts were down 10%

grouse do drum in the fall I have heard it too. The males I think are getting ready to claim winter grounds.

TheY drum during fall dispersal....Gun deer would be pretty late for that but I wouldn't be to surprised to hear it.

I have seen a good number of grouse along the back roads this year. For me last year was a very good year for seeing grouse. I expect the same this year. So far the numbers look good. I live in Iron County and see lots of good habitat.
