Ramsey Lake State Park Pheasant Hunting is open for 2008. I bagged 8 in two days of hunting. The hunting areas are in good condition. You can read about the program at http://www.stateparks.com/ramsey_lake.html

You can sign up for 2, 3, or 4 pheasants to be released into your area. These are strong flying, big birds.

Ramsey Lake State Park is approx. 15 miles north of Vandalia, IL.

This is my 4th year hunting there & it's great.

Is this as easy as it sounds? I new Ilinois did this type of program, but I thought you had to get in a lottery back in the summer.

Yes, it's just that easy. Plenty of hunting for everyone. You can register to hunt online at https://www.tmillerinc.com/reg.asp

It takes a little time to figure out the website, but you can sign up and pay online and be guaranteed a spot to hunt. You need to register at least 48 hours prior to the day you wish to hunt.

I've been going since 2005 and have bagged 142 pheasants to date. I'm going again on Sunday 12/13 with some friends to Ramsey Lake State Park.
