Thank you for the insights. The 3 options are interesting. I am not sure if I can be proficient in all three techniques. My instructor told me to point at the bird with my left (front) hand. Then mount by pulling my right hand back to my shoulder.

You can buy a fake shotgun shell with a laser in it to practice your mount. Plenty of explanations on YouTube, I really like advice you get from Dave Miller. I have my wife slowly run a laser down the wall ceiling seam. I use my gun with fake shell to track it.
