GOOD NEWS mn WIA PROGRAM EXPANDED TO NW

just read some good news today PF said as of july 29 that the MN WIA program was being expanded into the NW part of MN pheasant range & i also assume in all other countys that already have WIA lands...??? i hope so!!!

i know we need more lands brought up & owned by the state to maintain quality habitat in MN & WIAs are only a band aid but it dose help out some to supply some quality places to chase pheasants in MN this season at least that were not available last season thats always a good thing...

also new to the WIA program is a 3$ WIA validation fee that we will be charged when we buy our small game or pheasant license this season or they will ask if we want to be WIA validated & we need to be to hunt WIAs legal this yr kinda like the HIP certification but we have to pay 3$ for the WIA thats fine with me guys im just saying...

ill have to give some of these new WIAs a try this season for sure maybe on my way out to ND this pheasant season???

That is awesome, but darn it, I did not know about the WIA fee.. I have ZERO problem paying it but I just went and picked up my small game, pheasant stamp, waterfowl, federal stamp, early goose license today haha!

its not your fault man them dumb dumbs at wear you buy you license should of asked you them simple questions!!!???

i think you can go back & get em to re print you a license for free??? maybe have to pay 5$ thats my guess lol 8$ for the betterment of wildlife in MN i guess a???

only took 30 some guys reading this to leave a comment hope more then 1 out of 30 get WIA approved & pay the 3$ !!! lol

Yes I am sure they will do a reprint after I pay. And whether or not I will step foot on a WIA I will gladly fork up the 3 dollars..small donation for wildlife conservation.

I picked up a WIA plot map book at the Game Fair. At least that's what I think it is. I haven't looked at it yet.

was looking at my WIA map atlas as soon as i got it back from the game fair got to make sure what was there last yr is there this yr as well...

yeah we could donate $$$ 3,5,7 i think since the WIA program was created 3-4 yrs ago... now its mandatory we get WIA validated to hunt them so im sure the donations will not be as popular this yr???

nothing new around wear we hunt same as last yr... dose anybody have any idea why 3-5 areas that are now public lands be it WPAs or or other federal public lands in my pheasant hunting area that are not making it on the maps??? im not complaining that they are not on the public maps its just 1 area has been a WPA for 2 years & is not on a public hunting map yet??? there is also another WPA i know of not far that was created 3 years ago & its still not on a MN public hunting map of any kind???

i wonder how many more of these publichunting areas are out there & only MNDNR guys & WPA land managers ETC. are hunting them!!!??? i have hunted public lands not on a public land map B4 just wonder if anybody else is seeing this??? i herd of 3 other public lands in pheasant country SW MN that it has happened on also??? the MO is the state or FEDs buys hunting lands & waits 1-2 years to put up signs for the area then after 1-2 years they put up the signs making legal to hunt on the area but they dont list the WPA on any maps on-line or PRIM or WIA or even plat books??? for as many as 2-4 years whats the deal with that??? my friend found a PF area that was not listed as public for 3 years he pulled in to hunt it as he new it was legal to hunt & 3 trucks pulled up all PF members & all had a hand in obtaining the lands they asked him how do you know you can hunt here??? its not signed legally yet... he told them i talked to a DNR manger for the area & he said to try it they said its not legally signed yet for the public to hunt it? he said but you guys hunt it & its public they just said well have a good 1 sir & dont cross onto the other guys private property & peeled out!!! the next year the area was legally posted with public land signs & open to the public it only took 4 yrs for the signs to make it onto the public land area...

im sure this happens alot out west or more then just once or twice anybody else run into this???

LOL, I have seen plenty of this crap around. Some local yocal will take down signs so people will pass by. Especialy ones with 1 sign on a long field drive. You can not see it from the roads. Know some wooded areas too deer hunters took them down. Been that way for years. Not right, but it happens. Then the land owner right next to it has a no hunting sign right on the corner. People that don't know just keep going. I know of at least 3 places here that have been that way for years.

oh thats another hole story fcsspringer i see that loads from WMAs to WPAs to refuges signs if i have a map & its public im hunting it unless its says i cant... just removing the sign wont stop me LOL

what im talking about 3-4 if not more public lands that are not on any public map either paper or on-line through the MNDNR web site but there are signs on the lands but there not on a public hunting atlas... got me...???

it think some of the state workers or PF chapter members dont rush to put signs up on new or not so publicly acquired lands in certain areas??? i know of 2 WPAs that have not been listed in any MN public hunting atlas the last 2 yrs but have had signs up for 2 yrs...???

call me simple cant a game warden tell if signs have been tampered with & just replace the sign or make a call 2 do so if thats a prob???
