Good Day!

We were finally able to get out today! We headed up to bird camp and got into the birds! Dugan did an outstanding job and we all had a great day! Here is the end result!

Dugan's really on his game now. He got on the scent of a couple of hard running birds, left the scent, cut out in front of them, worked back, and flushed the birds right toward us. You can't teach that!

Today, Saturday, we hunted a Co-OP that consistently has hold- over birds. It's in a either sex zone, but we only shoot Roosters there. We managed to flush 7 birds, five were hens, we took one Rooster. It sure has been a great season!

John,
I am not exactly sure how many in season stockings this particular farm receives, it has outstanding cover and the birds that are released seem to due real well, that's why we don't shoot hens there. We have only seen a couple of other hunters hunting it, most of the guys in the area are more concerned with deer hunting.

now thats a smart dog!

Thanks, he'll hunt his heart out for you and he has gotten used to some of the tricks of Ole Mr. Rooster!
