We obtained a dog out of state once. Delta will ship animals via air. It's about $175 plus you provide the crate.
 
Tempting - Cass's best days are behind her..

My 12 yr plus GSP is full of cancer, the tumors are coming back. I would love to give the young guy a new home.. I work in Boulder during the week, so just up the road.... but, the wife hasn't bought into the idea of replacing Cassidy.. I'll work on it this week end...

I would loved to take it but I have two rescue dogs (Irish and English Setter) now and like it has been said before my wife just looks at me for a long while shakes her head and walks away. So better not.
