garmin alpha bundle or sport dog ?

Which collar gps unit do you think is the best for durability and just plain out works the best the sport dog is 500 for gps and shock collar all in one and the garmin shock collar gps is 800? After looking at these at cabelas I said to my self gosh bryan can you be any more behind in the times?
 
garmin, just because you can use it for alot more than just hunting. lots of options. and im gonna say it might be a better built system. i havent been so impressed with my sport dog e-coller im thinking about either going back to dogtra or trying a new garmin or i may just save up and get that fancy alpha garmin/e-coller.

I am pleased with my Garmin 220/40 plus a Sport basic on the same collar. The cost of of the two units is close to that of the Alpha unit but if a problem developes wth either I can separate them. I do not have to use the Sport very often but I feel better when I know it is available. The extra hand control is not the problem I anticipated. The extra weight of the two collar units does not appear to be a problem. I marvel at the ability of the gps to keep me in touch with my dog. I am trying to convince myself I need the 320/50 but that will have to wait.
 
Last year I purchased a sport dog 500. I took it home charged it up and then turned it on. It picked up the signal in my backyard just fine. That evening I took Ox out for a run through some fields. Turned the unit on and it could not pick up the collars signal. I tried everything I could to get it to work to no avail. Called sport dog, they told me to mail it in they would look at it and repair it if it was a factory defect. I took it back to Cabelas and picked up a Garmin Astro instead. I have had a few issues with the Astro but the most part it has worked as advertised. I have no experience with the Alpha.
 
My cousin has the Garmin, very nice unit and has performed without even a hiccup through all types of terrain, thick cover, and temps ranging from 0 last winter to 90 this summer when we were running the dogs...which was pretty much pond to pond. Solid unit that he reccomends.
