Drake and I Finished in 3rd place Saturday. 1st. place for Labs..lol we botched our first bird and should of won but themes the breaks we had a great time at a tuff hunt with waist high cover. The first bird went down and he could barely see it and hunted the fall area hard to hard I swear that?s where it went down. I called him off and went for some quick kills and retrieves then went back to find it. The judge said with the time left we had a good chance to win so we looked hard in that spot he hunted franticly to no avail. I notice he was over heating bad it was hard to see him at times so I told him to sit and looked a little more then gave up. He looked wiped so told him to sit/stay and went 200 yards back to the truck grabbed rubbing alcohol and another bottle of water (I carry alcohol for those who don?t now it?s one of the quickest ways to cool your dog down by rubbing it on their paws ) he was good to go after that. Went home watched my video from my video glasses I where the bird went down about 20 yard down over we hunted 40 yards down over oh well both of our faults I need to mark better..I check and we would have had at least 50 more points if we would of found it but lots of fun then went to Lyon county supply..

But on a good note I got my eyes checked last month an now have contacts and missed none..lol look out roosters..;)
 
Great story Mike! I could feel the excitement as I was reading it and was rooting for you guys. You and Drake have taken on all comers and have done very well. :cheers:Them Roosters are in big trouble this year! :thumbsup:
 
Thanks guy we've have been training hard with a friend going to the akc master nationals in a few weeks. So were doing marks and blinds on land and water shooting live duck and pheasants flyers this is last nights set up. Few week will brush up on quartering not really needed but like to refresh..As you can see on the last photo were just trying to keep our head above water..:D

Not sure yet I did once maybe sunday it's the opening day of Duck for us if he works hard saturday he'll be no good sunday. I normally go to the Chukar challenge..
 
Don't see how any Lab could pass up an opening day of duck season, Drake would never forgive you! :D

Always good to see hard work pay off. Keep us up to date.
 
Dang I thought 5 but she said 6 I looked and he's 6.lol I said wow time to look for another pup and she said if you get another pup I'm leaving I told Drake looks like were getting a new pup we'll miss her. She was not amused.lol
