Hi saw Franchi had launched a pair of really lightweght o/u shotguns.

has anyone fondled either of the SL or S series. seemed to be really a good value.
Would value opinions forwarded!

I was super excited when I first saw the Franchi SL talked about On the web. I stopped at quite a few gunshops before I finally found one to look at. When I finally did I was very disappointed. Maybe I saw a bad example, but I thought the fit and finish was poor. The gun just seemed a bit cheap. I hope I saw a bad example, because I really like the concept of the gun.

ive looked at them if i am going to spend the money i am buying a beretta or browning thats just me though just dont do it for me

I have 3 Franchi's Al48 20 g semi, Instinct L 20g O/U and the I12 semi
and i have never had a problem with them. I'm not the type to baby my guns they take a beating and never let me down.

Petzal gave it a good review on Field and Stream Gun Nuts. The only thing he did not like was the checkering. He qualified the Browning type safety and auto safety for others, but noted that's what he (and I) grew up on.

I've handled both new models and sure wouldn't trade any of my Citori's for them. Also, 12 GA O/U's WILL belt you good when firing hunting loads. That is just a matter of physics.
