Franchi Instinct L

I am looking for any advice or opinions on the Franchi Instinct Series.
I am wanting to get a new 20 gauge O/U...thanks:thumbsup:

I have only handled them in stores and never fired them. My opinion is at @ half the price of a Browning or Beretta as a hunting gun they seem like a bargain. Not sure I would buy one to shoot thousanmds of rounds of clays but my guess they would be fine as hunting guns. Fit and finish isn't the same level as the "B" guns but not bad for the price.

I bought one last year and its great, light, fast and good shooting. This is my thirds Franchi and that is all I will buy. I have the 12g I12 semi 3", Al48 20g semi, and the Instinct L O/U. At $1000 you can't go wrong. I used the Instinct L for hunting everything from woodcock, grouse, pheasant, duck and rabbit. I did not do much shooting at the gun club so I cant comment on that but I did put about 25 boxes of shells through it. Everything from 3" duck loads to light trap loads and it handled very well

Thank you for the feedback. I simply want the Franchi to shoot
quail. I won't use it to shoot ducks or pheasants. I am going to
be able to get a super low deal on it and I was curious if anyone
had any experience with them.

Is the SL more of a CLUB GUN (trap or skeet shooting)? It has
extended chokes and I suppose that I associated it with competition
shooting. Which model is the "better gun" between the two?

I DO NOT EVER SHOOT skeet or trap....

No it isn't. The SL is an aluminum reciever vs. the steel on on the L. There is a very noticeable difference in weight so the SL is more of a hunting/carry lots gun than a sporting/skeet gun which are always heavier. If I intended on shooting clays with it I would buy the heavier steel framed L. I have a nice 20g Citori Feather Lightning which is very light but might some day grab a 12g SL to add to the team.

Thank each and every one of you for your awesome replies. All of it has
been great information. Why would the SL me more expensive than the
L? I know it is minimal but just curious.

Also, what are your thoughts on the extended tubes for upland hunting
and can you shoot the SL with NORMAL chokes that are recessed into
the barrel and not seen?

Thoughts between 26" and 28" barrels?

I prefer 26" barrels but most will likely say 28". The extended tubes can be replaced with flush ones if you prefer that.
