Hey guys I’m heading up next Thursday to Fowler. It will be my first time in Kansas. I have a friend who hunts up there yearly but hasn’t been there yet this season. Any idea what we will be getting into in terms of pheasant numbers? Thank you in advance!

Its east of Mead and it should be similar to Dodge and have similar numbers to last year. Numbers will be hard to come by especially in 60 degree weather.

Thank you guys. What sort of habitat does it have there? My buddy who went last year reported putting up a couple hundred birds. So I’d be happy with 30-40 flushes

Habitat will very depending on which direction from Fowler you hunt. If you hunt SW towards Meade expect creek bottoms and slews South and SE expect sand hills tree rows. North lots of irrigated farm ground with weedy corners on the circles. With the mild weather i would head for the grassy corners. If it’s windy hunt the low lying ares out of the win.
