Found a place to hunt deer!

I lost access to the area I had permission to hunt for the last 4 years earlier this year, but after a little door knockin' I finally found some land to hunt on. It isn't much, but hopefully there will be a few deer walking by the stand when me and my son sit on it.
I am going to check it out a little better on Friday and maybe put a camera or two up.

Yes, it is only about 10-15 minutes from home. It is more of a travel corridor than anything else, but I am just glad to have a place for me and my son to go.
Now I can concentrate on more important things.....like pheasants!:)

I know, it is killing me to not have gotten out yet! Between work and kids sports, I hardly even notice there is a weekend! All the sports should wrap up the weekend before the pheasant hunt, so I at least know I will be free that weekend! I need to get over to that property and at least put a stand up, maybe then I could sneak away for a couple hours and relax.....I might even see a deer!

Yeah I know the deal... I have been planting grass instead of prepping for the season. I usually take the opener off but thought it may be in bad taste if I took the day off to bow hunt when I work for a gun company.:D

May go sit a bit saturday evening and shoot a doe or the a monster buck should they walk by.

Also was told that alot of deer dying from EDH. One deer my buddy found in Jeff Co. had a 200 plus inch rack:mad:
 
Wow, that is bad news about the deer dying, I haven't seen any acting sick, but I haven't seen a whole lot of deer either!
