We hunted there last year and had pretty good luck. I was just wondering if anyone knows the conditions there this year. From what i have been reading things are looking poor this year. We are planning on heading out the first week in November
 
Not so good

We hunted about 60 miles north of Pierre last weekend. About 1/3 of last years birds. No grasshoppers in their crops. Very strange from situation over the last years.
 
I was out there 2 weeks ago, (right to the Grasslands, but not into) I dont know what was hayed there, or to what extent it has been grazed, but I would expect the cover to be extremely light this year. If it hasnt been hayed, this years growth did not exceed last years growth.
