How has the fishing been at Oahe this year? Thinking of a trip and want a few updates. Thanks.

You might try the bait shop in Mobridge for information and/or the DNR station as well.

I fished the river south of town (Mobridge) and caught only small fish - early July??

fishinghutch gives a weekly report in the fishing report section of the walleyecentral message boards.. His report from today was good..

Thank you!

I knew you forum guys would be of great assistance! Those websites are very helpful. True that they doubled the keeper limit on walleyes? I am hoping to get out there in late June. Thanks again for all of the assistance.:)

A little early for Oahe yet given the slow spring. Biting lots of other places.
The limit of 8 requires 4 be under 15" and only 1 over 20" as per usual, plus the possession limit is three days, or 24 on Oahe only. I'll be there the 17th thru 21 of June. 3 days pleasure 2 guiding.

Success

One of my scouts shared that a 15 pounder was taken there this week! He also shared that the bite is on with limits taken easily within a couple of hours. Can't wait to get out there and give it a go!:)

Many species

The lake gains its reputation for quality walleye fishing and numbers but it contains catfish, smallies, largemouth, sturgeon and salmon. The salmon are in the 6-7 lb range and I have not fished for them. I mainly focus on the walleye when out there due to their compliance with my palette when back at my home dining table.:)
