First timer wanting to hunt SD public land

Myself, a friend and 4 dogs are wanting to drive up from Tn and hunt the 1st wk of nov. On a budget, so looking at public lands with nearby accomodations. Received the book and was wandering about the Winner or Burke area. Good bird numbers, less hunters? Any help sure would be appreciated. Have been looking at the map for weeks now and could really use some direction.

Not much public land in those areas. Lot's of info on previous threads if you look for them.

I contacted the SD fish and game dept and they sent me an impressive package with loads of maps.

Thanks for the reply. Will try and look elsewhere. Still open for suggestions though.
