I lucked out and shot a grouse a few days ago and let my 11 week old weimaraner get a taste of it. I tossed the bird out in the yard just like I would a toy and she went and retrieved it for me. Funny thing was she got really mad when I tried taking it from her but she doesn't do this with toys or around her food. So to have some more fun I dragged the bird about 20 yards through the yard and hid it behind a tree, grabbed Jade and put her on the scent trail and with a little help to get her going she made it to the bird. Looks like I might have future hunting partner.
