Well I was out on the 4 wheeler yesterday morning and I was just at the south end of the 4 acre NWSG field here next to the house when I noticed 5 or 6 small birds get up and just sort of flutter into some blackberry briars about 10 feet away. That was followed by a male Bobwhite quail!!:thumbsup::cheers::thumbsup::cheers: This was the first confirmed sighting of a quail hatch in many many years and it brought a huge smile to my face. Hopefully the female was busy sitting on another nest and I'll have some more chicks this fall. It sure was a nice thing to see and makes all those days spent sweating, toting a backpack sprayer and doing all kinds of plot work well worth it.

Great news, that's awesome!

What state are you in? That is a big deal! Congratulations:cheers:

Never woulda guessed you were from MO reading that post:eek: I read the MO forum and I know things are bad, but being excited about seeing one covey of birds in MO makes me feel for you guys. No doubt it was a leading quail state at one time:(
