Took the pup out to meet his first birds this weekend. It went very well. He was not sure at first but was very interested. when the first bird flew off we let him chase it but we didn't realize there were 2 chukar not far from us. This was his reaction
Solid point on his birds. I know he can see them but it was unexpected and it could have been a lot worse. Natural reaction is to point rather than jump. He pointed long enough for me to take out the phone and get the picture and come get him. He never did jump in.
We later let him fetch one and that went very well. He was proud as could be to have that bird in his mouth. He was very happy to carry it around.
over all it went very well. He is very excited and so am I. Nothing formal yet and no guns. we are going to wait a few months for that. Right now it is just get him excited.
