First aid kits in your pack? What else?

This will be my first year hunting SD and I am interested with what everyone brings in there first aid kits for the dogs.

Mine is a pretty basic kit with gauze, vet wrap, saline solution, thermometer, honey and a multi-tool.

I need to add a pair of wire cutters in my vest as well.

I carry the phone number of the nearest vet clinic. I also have some emt gel, blood clot powder eye wash. A felpro 209 cable cutter. A couple heavy duty zip ties for body grip traps but I don’t think I would be able to get to the dog and get everything figured out in time. I hate those kind of traps. I have some mushers paste for pads. A pliers for quills. That’s about it for me. Really my biggest issue is barbed wire fences and for that we go see the vet.

The vet information is something I need to add to mine! I normally look them up before going afield but never write them down and have in my kit! I’ll also need to grab some quick clot as that was something else I never thought of! Thanks for the insight!

I actually stop into the vet office before hunting and give them all my dogs information and make sure they will take them in an emergency. Saves a lot of time and reduces delays. I also put their address into my phone so I can get there quickly.

I carry wire cutters and usual first aid kit. I've also started bringing dog boots with me with stuff for pads like mushers secret and epsom salts.

ive got muzzle in my kit just in case my dog gets tresty after an injury.

i also carry cable cutters just in case we ever run into snare traps. thankfully, it has not happened yet.
