Firewood

Been using up some lately. -20 tonight -40 windchill.
I enjoy the workout of the firewoodthing
I have 2 woodsheds, I like to get one empty to work on filling it up.
Now I cut a batch almost every day, but will get in the shed as soon as there's an opening.
Still a great Winter for the wildlife, 2-3 inches on the ground.:cheers:

That brings back night mares. My Dad made us haul, split, and tote wood all my dam childhood. He was a fanatic. Had to have the biggest dang pile of any one. The thing was rediclously huge. Then, he sold the dang house with the wood stove and wood. I wanted to strangle him, all that work for nothing. God I hate that smell. Yep, cold one in MN for a day or two.

I have had wood heat my whole life, wouldn't want it any other way. Nothing like 90 above in the living room, front door standing open and me in my underwear trying to cool off and it's -20/-30 below zero outside. The Furnace never runs at our place but maybe in the spring or early fall on a cool morning and we don't have a fire in still/yet.

My wife just got hot home made bread out of the wood cook stove and a big old kettle of home made Chilli is sitting on top the cook stove for supper tonight. Suppose to be near -40 below windchill tonight. Feel bad for the horses and cattle. They have good cover and plenty of hay but they don't have the good cold weather coat they normally would because of all this VERY mild weather.
