Firebreaks - The Underestimated Food Plot

LOl....Perfect! I'm fitting right in, though I prefer "willing and helpful" over nuts:D

You know, thinking about it, I don't know what the problem is? I have a 100% guarantee if you give me 5 days I can remove 15 wild roosters for you:D

Thanks Nick. We hope to run about 100 hunters through our camp and get our harvested roosters up from 467 last year.

Wow. Now that's something to brag about!!! One of these days if we happen to be out there (SD) at the same time I'd like to take a look at what you've done. Sounds like a slice of heaven.

Jim's place too. Keep up the good work fellas.

Man O' Man:D. This is going to be a great fall! First I'm hitting up Ken's place so to give him a hand working that dog on crack while hunting wild MN roosters:thumbsup:, then it's off to Platte, SD to work your land a bit:thumbsup: (with a shotgun of course):D. After that (though Chris doesn't know yet) I'm stopping through his land to give a hand "thinning out the herd".

Nick

That's fine you don't have to stop by and visit me. I hunt birds that are truly wild and not baited into pristine habitats :p

Ohhhh what have I done:confused: I can see I've hurt some feels here:D. I'd include you in my "help" list too Mike, but you've converted your habitat into corn:eek:.

Don't worry though. I have a back up plan;). There's some nice areas in SD we can hit. They seem to have some infestation issues that need tending too. Back up would be appreciated.:D

I was just out mowing the 54 acres of 30' alfalfa firebreaks we have installed around all our CRP fields.

How does work with the ground being in CRP? Is the fire break left out? Do you have to bale and destroy the alfalfa or cut it and leave it lay?

Nuts to You Jim!

What kind of CRP are you adding? I have about 12 different numbers at my place[/QUOTE
The 84 ac plot is going to be CP-37 Duck Nesting Habitat Initiative and the 31 ac plot is thru the SDGF&P and will be Warm Season Native Grass and Forbes.
