Does anyone recommend Fiocchi's Golden Pheasant shells? If so, what do you like about them and what type of shooting do you do with them?

Golden Pheasant shells

I have been away from hunting for many years, now back from the darkside, I did some research on shells, having been away from the field, previously shot a whole lot of quail and pheasant over points with a 20 gauge low velocity load. I now find I'm hunting dense ( miserable ) crp with dogs who are not great retrievers. I moved up to a 12 gauge, reflexes not what they once were, and needed sure kills. Shooting a winchester SX2 light, 26" modified, I have to say I have never seen deader birds in the field than with the nickle plated 13/8th's ounce 23/4" Golden Pheasant in either 71/2 or 6 shot. By the way, the 71/2's are deadly on quail got a true triple and two true doubles on three pointed coveys, all dead where they fell, which is important since it seems everything I shoot falls in a 10year old crp field. Also they kick pretty good, but you won't notice with the way they perform.

Thanks for the input. Where do you usually hunt pheasant in Kansas? Hope you're having a great season.

I do like the Golden Pheasant Loads and use them consistently. I have also heard good things about Remington's Nitro Pheasant Loads too. The difference is Fiocchi uses a nickel plated and Remington copper. By using Nickel Plated Shot, you'll improve pattern density and increase energy (penetration). Nickel-plating and copper-plating decrease deformation of pellets, which causes flyers and also offers better penetration due to its non-porous characteristics.
