Finally !!!

First week of season and no wild birds on any of the properties I can hunt on. :(

Mick, the new, used, dog and I went out to state property. Two days, two shots, two birds...but those were the only birds we found.

Still, Mick did well. I need to get him on more birds so he can learn from them, and so he and I can work out our hunting arrangement.

I have VERY old legs...wearisome, but I stopped yesterday, told myself to quit my whining, and realized that when I allow myself to wish, THIS is what I wish for. :)

Be safe, hunt well.

Great pictures! on the second one I had to go make sure you hadn"t come and taken my dog. First time I have seen one with the identical liver colored blotches on back and side not to mention the same face. How old is youe ESS and what state was he from originally?

Best of luck the rest of the year.

Matt? Dunno exactly how old Mick is.

Brittany Rescue figured 4-5, I figured more like under 4. That would make him about 5 now.

Story was that he was rescued from Southern Illinois, from a pound. Brought up to Wisconsin and fostered there.

I got him from the Brittany folks, but he's an ESS.

He had not hunted before, so he's now a pretty happy camper.

Good job to you and Mick. Great looking dog, glad to hear he's working out for you.
