im sure this question has been posted before but im too lazy to surch for it...anyway with the vizslas sensitive nature...is force fetch training a good idea..or have any of you had experience with training V's...im thinking it shouldnt matter...prob depends on the dog....are there any alternatives if FF isnt working well with your dog...any input/experience would be helpfull...neighbor/friend has a 8month old pup and is uncertain. cheers!

Both. It's not a huge deal to me. They will retrieve balls and such all day long.
Oldest male got spurred badly when he was a pup by a pheasant. From that day on, every pheasant that he got to was insured to be dead.
He will retrieve quail and pigeons on occassion.

Middle one will do some.
Youngest, haven't gotten to that point yet.

I wouldn't worry about your Vizsla's sensitive nature. I've FF'd, or as I prefer to call it Trained Retrieve, my Brittany with no ill effects and your Vizsla can't be any more sensitive than my Brittany. I've tried to do it myself but struggled with it and had it done by a pro. I highly recommend having it done by a training professional. Choose a trainer that has a good reputation and has worked with sensitive dogs. Most trainer want the dog for at least one month and the cost will run $600-700 per month. But it's money well spent.
