I've never heard that labs are prone to twisted gut. I've heard it's most common in big chested dogs with smaller hips, mainly English pointers and gsp.
Me and a buddy were hunting with another guy who had a lab. The first night his dog got into our dog food and ate all of it for the next two days of our hunting trip. We had to go to town and buy more.Haha. My dog would be dead if I let her eat all that she wanted to. Literally, there is no control.
