Some more information on the subject. Research the Supreme Court decisions. Idaho was right to decline to join any suit on this issue if for no other reason than Utah, Nevada and other states gave up any perceived rights and claims when they became a state. This link will get anyone started that is interested in doing the research required.

1:30PM+, Tuesday, March 15th East Wing State Capitol Rm 40

Today, Tuesday, March 15th, the House Resource and Conservation Committee will take up a slate of bills regarding public lands and public access. First up, they will hear HCR 53 (Erpelding, D-Boise):

?This Resolution recognizes the importance of hunting, fishing and trapping to Idaho's western heritage. It also resolves that the Idaho Legislature opposes any proposals that bar Idaho hunters,
anglers and trappers from accessing state endowment trust land on the basis of exclusivity.

Additionally, it encourages the State Board of Land Commissioners to preserve and promote responsible and equitable access to state endowment trust land for the benefit of all Idahoans.?
