Favorite Non-Toxic?

I'm sure this has been brought up before but just looking to see what other people use. I hunt a lot of WPA's so I don't even buy lead shot anymore unless I'm hunting at a preserve. In the past if used mainly Experts, but this year I'm shooting a nicer SxS than I'm used to so I'd like to shoot some shells that won't screw up my barrel like they did to my nova. Does anybody have experience with Hevi-Shot?

Yes, this topic has come up several times before.
To answer your question, I like and have used HS for several years whenever no-tox is required. However, the current batch of HS sold by HS is not the same formula as the original. I have some HS made by Remington that is now several years old, and it works as good as or better than lead.

I use it lot. Forget the cost, use ITX, or "nice shot". It's pretty close to lead, loads like lead. Cost, well 6# of ITX is about $159.00 dollars, "nice shot" is about $196.00 for 6# or so. Both will be higher or non-available later. If you buy them loaded, they are about $3.00 a shot. Don't miss! People talk about to costly, etc. If it's feel like that, shot steel. I won't with old doubles, and that's what I like. The heavy shot, or HD shot is NOT the heavy shot of a few years ago. It was like 13 weight, lead depending on antimony, is a round 10-11, much like "nice shot", ITX. ITX makes a hard copy. See Professional reloading, or Ballistic Products. Both standards can be loaded without cups, with a fiber wad, a cup might make them hold pattern longer. The HD's I would be hesitant to use without one, and maybe a mylar wrapper to boot!
