We are heading back to the Faulkton area next week. Any recent reports for this particular area. Assuming most of the corn is down and cattails have yet to freeze solid ??
 
Yes safe to say expect most corn to be out of the field. They got some cold temps end of last week but looking at the forecast I wouldn’t expect a lot of safe freezing to have happened. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
 
Have friends out there now, enough ice for the birds but not for humans. It was in the hi 40 lo 50s today.
 
Update. Arrived Saturday and we have found walkable ice in the locations we have hunted. Bird numbers have been decent with a three person limit on day-one and we were one short today but that was due to some lackluster shooting. Public land only. Most birds have been in or around cattails near cut corn. No large concentration of birds yet some just here and some there. We have also been seeing a good number of birds out and about during the day. Great weekend so far. Two more days before heading back home.
