So my dad took me, brother and sister's boyfriend to Fall River. He's been crappie fishing FR and Toronto for years and knows the areas very well.
Toronto was high level visit. Didn't really see the habitat (crops) like I wanted so we didn't spend much time there. FR was a different experience. I gotta say that the habitat plan has been planned and executed well. The sagebrush, thicket, milo, fallow/native grasses are phenomenal. We only got to hunt little over an hour, walked one milo field and at 30 min mark kicked up covey of approximately 20-25 birds. We were walking the stubble into the timber which was bad but just the way we were moving through the field. Most of the birds hit the tall timber so we didn't hunt down but I suspect they will covey back up soon. Had the pup with us, got in some good work but really had planned to scout so we could come back and spend quality time in field.
Plan to go back -- if you're in that area I would recommend Fall River just based on the habitat.
