EP for Pheasants - how did it work out?

For those of you who hunt EPs for pheasants both wild and released, how did your dog do, both before and after the shot on cripples/dead birds? Any thoughts on EP kennels or lines that would produce a decent pheasant dog?

They can all be good pheasant dogs, given the right exposure.

Is a retrieve a priority for you? If so, be sure to find lines that have natural retrieving desire, unless you are skilled with FF, or are willing to pay a trainer for it.

One of these days I'm going to get EP;). That's one of those breeds I've always wanted. Though, I'll be breaking the rules though by working him with my lab. Anyway, I've watched some very good EP on wild pheasants. They are a strong, energetic dog. Great noises.

There's a number of members on this site who run EP. They can give you better insight into the EP's world.
