This litter was whelped August 20, 2015. They are a mix of shooting dog and grouse bloodlines in a repeat breeding. The sire, Spurgeon, is a son of 3X Champion The Valedictorian of Smith Setter kennel fame and Trail's End Boom who is a daughter of RU Champion Trail's End Bubba and Tug Hill Ballerina. I have a brother to Boom who has been a phenomenal bird finder that I would love to be able to clone!!! The dam, Flicker, is a granddaughter of 5X Grouse Champion Pennstar, 3X Grouse Champion Terhaar's Rocko, and Multi-grouse Champion Cooper Mountain Pepsi.

My hunting buddy and I bought Flicker and 2 of her sisters who have all been exceptional hunting dogs. Her pedigree is filled with some of the highest achieving grouse champions ever including Pennstar, Grouse Ridge Reroy, Shady Hills Billy and others. Spurgeon is an exceptional specimen and also hosts a pedigree that includes champions like The Valedictorian, True Citizen, Brannigan, The Performer, Tomoka, Trail's End Tomoka, Stokely's Diablo Jake, and Spring Garden Keeper. Britt, this is a litter of 3 and none are sold yet. I'd love to see some go that way, but going to good hunting homes is what I expect!
 
10 days is a bit early with no major body spots, but one male has a black eye stripe and the female has black spots on her ears. The other male has a black spot on his chin, but I don't know if that is lip color or coat color.
